Geo and Kalen both studied engineering at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, but they only knew of each other through mutual friends. Surprisingly, it wasn't until years after college that their romantic journey began.

2019 - Facebook Has Done it Again

Geo was living in his hometown of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Kalen was in Fayetteville, Arkansas. One day, the two had found each other on facebook through mutual friends. One night during a late night scroll, Kalen was intrigued by Geo's engaging 2 am debates and discussions about various topics. She was curious with how he thought about the world and his perspective on life. Geo was undeniably intelligent and unafraid to speak his mind. This was immediately evident to her. Two qualities that she found highly appealing. She remembered seeing him around the campus and thought he was really cute. Hoping to catch his eye, she liked all of his Facebook posts. As fate would have it, this small, ambiguous move led to Geo returning the love by liking all her Facebook posts. From there, the two started interacting with each other - more comments, more posts!

2019- Gingers

Geo and Kalen's conversation took off effortlessly after their first direct message. They soon exchanged phone numbers and spent hours on the phone every day for a week talking about anything and everything. Despite the distance between them, with Kalen in Arkansas and Geo in Georgia, they knew they had to see each other.

September 1, 2019, Geo was determined to make his first date with Kalen truly special. Although he’s never been a fan on flying on airplanes, that did not stop him. He drove for 12.5 hours straight from his home in Georgia to Fayetteville, Arkansas. That day they went on their first date and it was nothing short of magical as they spoke for hours about their dreams and aspirations. They spent the day exploring the city and to add the perfect touch, they shared a delicious meal at one of Kalen's favorite restaurants in Northwest Arkansas, Gingers. Kalen and Geo were instantly drawn to each other and felt a spark from their conversations. They both recognized that what they had was truly special.

It was December 23, 2023, Geo had been planning his proposal for awhile. He knew that he wanted it to be a complete surprise, but he also knew how important it was to include Kalen's parents in the moment. Knowing how much Kalen loved the holiday season and traditions, he came up with a plan to disguise the proposal as a new holiday tradition of going out to eat just the two of them every Christmas Eve's eve before spending the rest of the holiday season with loved ones.

A Surprise Proposal at an Upscale Atlanta Steakhouse

Geo was thoughtful, intimate and intentional. He carefully selected an upscale steakhouse in Atlanta, Georgia and arranged for both their parents' arrival ahead of time at the restaurant. When Geo and Kalen walked into the gorgeously decorated restaurant, Kalen had no idea what was coming....

As they made their way around the corner of the restaurant, Kalen noticed their parents seated at a table. Before she could make sense of anything, Geo took her hand and knelt down on one knee. He professed his love for her and expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life with her. Overcome with emotion and the happiest of tears, Kalen said YES! They were embraced by the love and support of their parents. This unforgettable moment marked the beginning of a new page in their love story.
